Session II: The Need for Action – The Impact of DV on Children
Sarah Buel, Faculty Director, Diane Halle Center for Family Justice, Clinical Professor of Law
In most communities, the primary systems for helping families with children become safe – dependency courts, child protective services, and domestic violence service providers – need to strengthen their understanding, capacity, and relationships to address the co-occurence of domestic violence and child maltreatment. This session will provide an overview of collaborative efforts needed, highlight the advancement of promising policies and practices, and discuss how to engage in effective collaborative relationships and systems change on a state level.
