Lyle Ishida has served as the Acting Chief of the FCC’s Office of Native Affairs and Policy (ONAP) since April 2016, coming to the office from the FCC’s Consumer Affairs and Outreach Division where he serves as its Chief. Since joining the FCC in 2000, Mr. Ishida has worked in a number of technical and managerial positions in the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Auctions Division) and Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau. He spent the first half of his government career as a civilian manager with the Department of Army, working in both Hawai’i and Japan, culminating in his position as Chief of the Directorate of Community Activities, Camp Zama, Japan.
He is a proud son of the state of Hawai’i and visits home whenever he can. He now resides in Cabin John, MD with his wife and daughter.
