Joshu Harris is legislative director for Philadelphia Councilman Kenyatta Johnson. Previously, he spent nearly a decade in the district attorney’s offices for Manhattan, Philadelphia and Boston’s southern suburbs. Joshu also served as a law clerk for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where he worked on three U.S. Supreme Court nominations. He holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Amherst College. Joshu was closely involved with the formation and work of the American Bar Association’s National Task Force on Stand Your Ground Laws, and he has written and presented widely on the subject. He co-chairs the ABA Criminal Justice Section’s Appellate & Habeas Practice Committee and is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association Criminal Justice Section’s Executive Committee.
